The Air Cooled Bug blog has been featured in the Total 911, EVO and Octane magazines and on Pistonheads. We never expected to receive this level of interest in our oddball adventure, and have been most surprised by the traffic the website has, and continues to attract. With this in mind we are following up with a book. Should all go to plan, it will be ready and available on Amazon this November.
The book will contain route maps in graphic format detailing way points for satellite navigation, suggestions for things to see, and places to stay.
There will be two main routes:
A loop starting in Charleston, South Carolina following the footsteps of the blog heading North to the Badlands, down through Colorado, across to Palm Springs and back though Texas and Louisiana.
East to West coasts, starting in Charleston, South Carolina and ending in Los Angeles, California (which could also be reversed).
It won’t carry the road trip text of the blog, the how to section will have an updated ‘how to’ section with the information on this site along with a few things learnt along the way.
The book will be full of photographs and will make a nice coffee table book or a useful guide to those contemplating shipping a car to the USA for a road trip (and getting it home again).
